Rosanda Sorakaitė. SOMETHING SIMILAR
On Augus 6th (Thursday) at 6 p.m. at the gallery "Meno parkas" will be held an opening of solo exhibition of the young artist Rosanda Sorakaitė SOMETHING SIMILAR.
In the sensitive paintings of the artist we can recognize images and moments of everyday life. The admiration of environment is felt in R. Sorakaitė works, which leads to great professional results. Studying the light (as if it be magical) in practical creative context led to abstraction of suggestive fragments of life in a composition of painting. Observing and conveying manifestations of light (its variations in different situations) on canvas, artist creates works which are equable in color spectrum and rich in nuances.
The clearest way to tell that this exhibition is about memories. Works of art appears from the obseravation of the environment, rethinking the past. Sometimes motive appears accidentally, sometimes I'm watching it for a while but in both cases it occures like a brief flash that allows you to understand that this moment matches with inner thought, which may be not a tangible yet but intuited. And the picture is always only something similar to what you're intended to portray. Painting process itself immerses into the time that no longer exist and you are alone, one for yourself. The work - as a memory of the time, unfamiliar, but perhaps more real than the either day we seen.
